Stare at a computer all day? Try these exercises to relax your eyes!

Everyone knows it is bad for your eyes if you sit in front of a computer screen all day. Almost all of us, however, sit in front of a computer screen – all day.

Site for Sore Eyes – Berkeley, CA has a few tips for giving those eyes a relaxing workout:

1-         If you can’t move away from your computer after 20 minutes of staring at it, take a minute to look away. Close your eyes tightly for 5 seconds. Open them for 5 seconds and repeat 7-8 times.

2-         Press three fingers of each hand against your upper eyelids lightly. Leave them there for 2 seconds, then release. Repeat this 5 times.

3-         Roll your eyes clockwise, then counter-clockwise. Repeat this 5 times, without making yourself dizzy, blinking in between each eye roll.

4-         Focus on an object you see in the distance. By doing this for a few minutes every half hour or so, your eyes will become relaxed.

5-         Make up and down eye movements. Do this 8 times. Then, do a side to side eye movement, starting from left to right. Repeat this 8 times. (Be sure not to force your eyes further than they want to go.)
